About the Role:
Horton & Mendez is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support our attorneys through the full lifecycle of a litigated case. This role combines strong organizational skills with attention to detail, keeping case files, deadlines, and documentation on track from filing through trial preparation.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings
- Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring documents and records stay current and accessible
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case preparation
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders
- Request, track, and follow up on medical records, billing statements, and authorizations
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and other external parties
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience or education in the legal field is a plus but not required
- Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in preparing legal documents
- Organized and dependable, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Trustworthy and discreet when handling sensitive client and case information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite

About the Role:
Horton & Mendez is seeking an Office Coordinator to be the first impression of our new Charlotte office and the person who keeps it running day to day — from front desk and facilities to supporting the team, firm leadership, employee engagement, and new hire onboarding. Because this is a newly opened location, this person will help establish office systems and vendor relationships from the ground up and operate with a high degree of independence. The ideal candidate works well with others, adapts quickly to shifting priorities, thinks on their feet, and is comfortable exercising sound judgment without daily on-site oversight.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and staff, including greeting guests and answering and directing incoming calls
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages
- Own the conference room calendar, ensuring bookings are coordinated and run without overlap
- Maintain a well-organized, welcoming office environment
- Monitor office supply inventory and place orders to maintain appropriate stock levels
- Serve as the point of contact for building maintenance requests and office vendors
- Help establish office systems, vendor relationships, and supply processes for a newly opened location
- Provide administrative support to leadership and operations, including data entry, document preparation, and filing
- Partner with the People & Culture Director to plan and execute employee events
- Support new hire onboarding, including preparing workspaces and coordinating first-day logistics
What we are looking for:
- 2+ years of experience in an office coordination, administrative, or front-desk role
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Dependable and trustworthy with sensitive information
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and adapting quickly to shifting needs
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels
- Proven ability to operate independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal day-to-day oversight

- Support marketing campaigns, promotions, and brand awareness initiatives
- Capture photo and video content for social media and digital marketing

What we are looking for:
- Fully bilingual in Spanish and English required (spoken and written)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable being on camera and interacting with the public

- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and active participation at community events and activations
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds. Transporting and setting up event materials is a regular part of this role
- Standard day shift with occasional evenings or weekends for community events
- Regular local travel throughout Charlotte; occasional statewide travel
