About the Role:
Horton & Mendez Injury Attorneys is expanding our Charlotte market, and we’re looking for a bilingual (Spanish & English) Marketing Assistant to join our growing team.
This is a highly community-focused position ideal for someone who enjoys networking, social media, event coordination, and relationship-building. We’re looking for someone who can help grow our
Charlotte presence while authentically connecting with the local community and representing the firm in a professional, approachable way.
This is a hybrid full-time position based in Charlotte, with our office located in the South End area. The ideal candidate is outgoing, community-oriented, creative, and already has strong ties or connections within the Charlotte community.
This position requires fluency in both Spanish and English, as a large part of the role involves building relationships and engaging with both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking communities throughout Charlotte.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with social media content creation and community engagement in both English and Spanish
- Represent the firm at community events, networking opportunities, sponsorships, and local activations
- Build and maintain relationships within Charlotte’s Hispanic and local communities
- Help coordinate partnerships, events, and outreach opportunities
- Support marketing campaigns, promotions, and brand awareness initiatives
- Capture photo and video content for social media and digital marketing
- Assist with additional marketing and administrative tasks as needed
What we are looking for:
- Fully bilingual in Spanish and English required (spoken and written)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable being on camera and interacting with the public
- Experience in managing Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects
- Marketing, communications, PR, or related experience preferred
- Existing connections within the Charlotte area strongly preferred
- Prior experience in community outreach, event coordination, or relationship-based marketing roles
Physical Requirements/Work Requirements & Environment
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and active participation at community events and activations
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds. Transporting and setting up event materials is a regular part of this role
- Standard day shift with occasional evenings or weekends for community events
- Regular local travel throughout Charlotte; occasional statewide travel

About the Role:
Horton & Mendez is seeking a bilingual Pre-Litigation Case Manager to manage an active caseload of personal injury matters through settlement, keeping cases moving and clients informed at every stage. This person is the connective tissue between the client, the attorney, and the many moving parts of an active case — keeping documentation complete, communication consistent, and cases progressing efficiently. The right candidate is organized, proactive, and committed to delivering a high standard of service to clients navigating a difficult time.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage a caseload of personal injury matters, keeping cases moving and clients informed at every stage
- Communicate regularly and compassionately with clients — providing updates, answering questions, and offering clear guidance throughout the process
- Collect, organize, review, and summarize medical records, bills, and supporting evidence
- Handle all aspects of insurance claims related to auto accidents, including verification, correspondence, and follow-through
- Prepare demands and provide comprehensive support to attorneys on case strategy and settlement
- Prepare settlement packages, execute client disbursements, and manage case liens and medical bill reduction requests
- Maintain accurate, well-organized case files and documentation in the firm’s case management system
What We’re Looking For:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish — ability to communicate fluently with Spanish-speaking clients is required for this role
- 2+ years of Case Management experience, pre-litigation personal injury experience strongly preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently and without close supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable corresponding with clients, insurance carriers, and medical providers
- Trustworthy, discreet, and detail-oriented; takes ownership of their work and follows through consistently
- Proactive and solutions-oriented, with strong critical thinking skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe; comfortable learning and navigating new software systems quickly
- Experience with Filevine or similar legal case management software strongly preferred

Horton & Mendez is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant to support the day-to-day management of workers’ compensation cases and help ensure our clients receive organized, responsive, and compassionate service throughout their claims process.
This role plays a key part in coordinating case activity, maintaining communication with clients and medical providers, and ensuring each matter moves forward efficiently. The ideal candidate combines strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and client-centered communication with a working knowledge of workers’ compensation procedures.
You will work closely with attorneys, case managers, and other team members to support the progression of claims from intake through resolution, helping ensure clients feel informed, supported, and confident in their representation.
This role carries a high degree of ownership. The Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant balances case administration, client communication, and documentation accuracy while helping maintain the quality and efficiency of the department’s workflow.
What You’ll Do
- Assist attorneys and case managers in the day-to-day management of workers’ compensation cases
- Maintain accurate and well-documented case records in the firm’s case management system
- Communicate with clients regarding case updates, appointments, and documentation needs
- Coordinate medical records, treatment updates, and communication with providers
- Assist with preparation and filing of workers’ compensation forms and documents
- Track deadlines, hearings, and case milestones to ensure timely follow-up
- Monitor benefits such as TTD/TPD payments and notify the team of discrepancies
- Prepare case summaries and documentation for attorney review
- Coordinate scheduling of IMEs, depositions, mediations, and other case-related appointments
- Maintain organized electronic files and ensure documentation is complete and current
- Collaborate across the firm to ensure smooth case progression and client service

- 2–5+ years of experience as a legal assistant, case manager, or administrator in a workers’ compensation or personal injury practice
- Strong understanding of workers’ compensation processes and documentation

- Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience communicating with clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters
- Ability to maintain accurate records in CRM or case management systems
- Professional discretion in handling confidential client information
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and team members
Bonus Points
- Prior North Carolina workers’ compensation experience
- Familiarity with IC forms, medical record coordination, and benefits tracking (TTD/TPD)
- Bilingual in Spanish
