In 2026, Horton & Mendez Injury Attorneys proudly continued the Best of NC Heroes Contest, a statewide initiative dedicated to honoring the incredible first responders who serve communities across North Carolina. This year, we continued celebrating firefighters, police officers, nurses, EMS personnel, ocean rescue teams, and so many others who show up every day to protect and care for those around them.

With over 800 community nominations and votes submitted across the state, we were honored to award $4,000 in cash prizes to a group of truly outstanding heroes whose dedication, compassion, and courage make a lasting impact. Congratulations to our remarkable winners and thank you to everyone who participated.
